CENTRAL DISTRICT LEVEL TRAINING PROGRAMME (DLT)
FOR HOMOEOPATHIC PRACTITIONERS UNDER
CAMPAIGN ON HOMOEOPATHY FOR HEALTHY MOTHER AND HAPPY  CHILD
17th  – 19th February 2011

Under the campaign on “Homoeopathy for  Healthy Mother and Happy Child”, three days ‘District Level Training Programme  for Homoeopathic Practitioners’ from Central district was inaugurated by Sh  Mohan Lal (Director DISM&H) on 17th February, 2011 in seminar room  of Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College in the presence of Dr Anil Kumari  Malhotra, Principal NHMC and Dr Rakesh Saxena, CDMO (H) (S, C, ND).

The main objective of the workshop was  capacity building of Homoeopathic Physicians to effectively manage Mother and  Child Health related problems at the primary health care level.

All the participants of DLT were provided  the training manuals (prepared by CCRH) about a month prior to the workshop for  self-study before participating in the contact session. The workshop was  attended by 24 Homoeopathic physicians (11 GDMOs from DISMH, 1 teaching faculty  of NHMC, 7 PG students from Homoeopathic Institutions, 5 from the NGOs/ Private  sector).

The workshop comprised of eighteen contact sessions  spread over 3 days in which 16 Resource persons including experts from the realm  of Homoeopathy, Obstetrics/ Gynecology, Paediatrics, Dentistry, Skin,  Nutritionist and First aid, interacted with the participants about the various aspects  of Mother and child care through illustrative presentations.

The participants were assessed both before  and after the 3 days contact session regarding their understanding and grasping  of the various topics relating to MCH campaign. The completed assignments  submitted by participants were subject to intense discussion with trainers.

The core objective achieved during the  District Level Training Programme (DLT) for Homoeopathic Practitioners on  Homoeopathy for Mother and Child Care may be summarized as:

  1. Polishing  of clinical skills of participants in dealing with pre-natal, antenatal and  post natal complaints of mothers and common paediatric disorders and ensure  optimal application of basic knowledge in care of mothers and children in light  of homoeopathic concepts.
  2. Developing  better clinical acumen in charting out diagnosis, prognosis and complications  of varied common disorders of mothers and children through interactive  discussions, case studies and clinical experiences.
  3. Comprehending  the necessity and methods to effectively implement general management, first  aid services and dietary guidelines in context of MCH disorders.
  4. Understanding  of referral criteria in order to ensure optimal utilization of resources and  effective horizontal coordination amongst the AYUSH and allopathic  practitioners.
