REPORT ON
NORTH DISTRICT LEVEL  TRAINING PROGRAMME ( DLT)
FOR HOMOEOPATHIC  PRACTITIONERS UNDER
CAMPAIGN ON  HOMOEOPATHY FOR HEALTHY MOTHER AND HAPPY CHILD
23th  – 25th Feburary 2009

In the backdrop of launch of Campaign on “Homoeopathy for  Healthy Mother and Happy Child” in North district of Delhi, three days  “District Level Training Programme  for  Homoeopathic Practitioners on “Homoeopathy for Mother and Child Care” was  inaugurated by Sh Mohan Lal (Director DISM&H) on 23rd Feburary, 2011 in conference  room of Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital.

The main objective of the workshop was capacity building  of Homoeopathic Physicians to effectively manage Mother and Child Health  related problems at the primary health care level.

All the participants of DLT were provided the reading  manuals (prepared by CCRH) one month prior to the workshop and after one month  of self-study were called upon to participate in 3 days of contact session. The  workshop was attended by 27 Homoeopathic physicians (6 GDMOs working with  GNCTD,  Institutions,  1 Homoeopathic practitioner from MCD, 2 from CGHS and  18 Homoeopathic Physicians from the NGOs/  Private sector ).

The workshop comprised of seventeen sessions spread over 3  days in which 16 Resource persons including experts in realm of Homoeopathy,  Obstetrics/ Gynecology, Paediatrics, Dentistry, skin, Nutritionist and First  aid trainers enlightened the participants about the need and methodology of  Mother and child care through illustrative presentations .

During the interactive contact sessions, participants were  provided practical assignments on the particular topic of training in order to  assess their understanding and grasping for the topic concerned. The completed  assignments submitted by participants were subject to intense discussion with  trainers.

The core objective achieved during the District Level  Training Programme (DLT) for Homoeopathic Practitioners on Homoeopathy for  Mother and Child Care may be summarized as:

  • Polishing  of clinical skills of participants in dealing with pre-natal, antenatal and  post natal complaints of mothers and common paediatric disorders and ensure  optimal application of basic knowledge in care of mothers and children in light  of homoeopathic concepts. 
  • Developing  better clinical acumen in charting out diagnosis, prognosis and complications  of varied common disorders of mothers and children through interactive  discussions, case studies and clinical experiences. 
  • Comprehending  the necessity and methods to effectively implement general management, first  aid services and dietary guidelines in context of MCH disorders. 
  • Understanding  of referral criteria in order to ensure optimal utilization of resources
