New Delhi District Orientation Programme under
Campaign on Homoeopathy for Healthy Mother & Happy Child

The campaign on Homoeopathy for Healthy Mother & Happy Child (MCH) was launched in New Delhi district of Delhi by Sh. D. K. Mishra (Deputy Commissioner, New Delhi Distt) in the One day District Orientation Programme organized in the Ahilya Bai Auditorium, LN Hospital & MAMC Complex on 8/3/11 in the presence of Sh Mohan Lal, Director (DISMH), Dr Manju Mehra, Addl. MS, LN Hospital, Prof. C. Nayak (Former Director General, CCRH), Dr R. K. Manchanda, Deputy Director (Homoeopathy) and Dr Kusum Chand, Consultant (NHMC).
The workshop was attended by 102 medical practitioners, which included 23 allopathic doctors (from LN Hospital, MAMC, ESI and DHS), 3 other AYUSH doctors (from ESI and private sector) and 76 Homoeopathic doctors (from Govt., NGO’s and private sector). The objective of the workshop was to sensitize the diverse participants about the benefits of Homoeopathy in maternal & child health.
Dr. R.K.Manchanda welcomed all the dignitaries & participants in the launch ceremony and gave a brief introduction about Delhi State Health Mission (DSHM), role of AYUSH in health care set-up and outlined the aims and objectives of MCH campaign.
Dr. Manju Mehra talked about the benefits of horizontal coordination amongst the allopathic and AYUSH practitioners.
Prof. C. Nayak discussed the pivotal role of Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) in the initiation and implementation of the MCH campaign and also highlighted the various scientific researches carried out globally and in India in the domain of mother and child care.
Sh D. K. Mishra, DC (New Delhi), promised complete cooperation in the IDHS activities for furthering the campaign in his district.
The inaugural session was followed by 2 scientific sessions.
In the first session:
- Dr Kusum Chand, Consultant (NHMC), discussed the role of homoeopathy in integrated management of childhood illnesses. She cited many cases of various childhood illnesses treated effectively through homoeopathy.
- Presentation of Dr. Eswara Das, Consultant Advisor (Homoeopathy), GOI, on the role of this campaign in public health and the AYUSH task force synergistically in NRHM/ DSHM with the aim of reducing maternal and child mortality together with modern system of medicine and various grants provided by GOI for opening of AYUSH setup in allopathic hospitals was read by. Dr Gyandas G. Wadhwani, SMO(H).
In the second session:
- Dr R.K Manchanda talked about symbiosis of Homoeopathy and allopathy in Primary health care units
- Dr V.K Chauhan, Principal (SHMC), described the merits of homoeopathy in maternal care.
